2006 USCT CIVIL WAR SYMPOSIUM
Civil War buffs from the Washington Metropolitan Area and
several states, including Kentucky, Florida, Texas and Michigan, attended
MRSPT’s Civil War symposium at the Charles Sumner School Museum and
Archives, honoring the United States Colored Troops (USCT). Noted
historians, lecturers, authors and re-enactors shared their expert
presentations and special recognition was given to the First Regiment of
Washington, D.C. Other special features included participation by members
of the Massachusetts 54th Regiment, a Civil War luncheon and a
wreath-laying ceremony at the USCT Memorial. |
