Several years of intensive research and extensive planning culminated on Saturday, August 16, 2008, with the unveiling of the Battleground to Community Brightwood Heritage Trail.

In collaboration with the Brightwood Heritage Trial Working Committee and MRSPT, as well as former and current residents and business owners, Cultural Tourism DC established this historic Trail, which tells the story of life in the Brightwood community.  Through a series of descriptive photographs, this self-guided tour acquaints visitors with the development of this area and those who experienced life there over the years from the Civil War to the mid 1900’s.
