The mission of the
Military Road School Preservation Trust is to ensure that the Military Road
School, together with its site and legacy, as well as related archeological
resources, be preserved in perpetuity for the interpretation of local
history, including that of Fort Stevens, the evolution of the educational
system for African-Americans in Washington, and the history of the
surrounding area. The Military Road School
Preservation Trust is a 501( c )(3) nonprofit membership organization
incorporated in the District of Columbia, which includes alumni of the
Military Road School as well as numerous other individuals who share a
commitment to the organization's mission.
